Ganga Water Rally to take place from 28-30th November in Uttar Pradesh

Ganga Water Rally would be organised from November 28 and it would terminate on November 30. The rally provides a unique opportunity to explore scenic beauty along river Ganga with its historical Ghats of Ganga from Allahabad to Varanasi through Mirzapur and Chunar. It is an event of complete adventure and fun. The participants use kayaks, canoes or row boats. Ganga Water Rally is the first major water sporting event of its kind in Uttar Pradesh. Seven teams will be participating in the Ganga Water Rally, three from UP while the remaining four teams are outside the state. The teams would be co-ordinated by India Kayak and Canoeing Association. In addition to the Ganga Water Rally, UP Tourism also organises Water Sports Festival at the Boat Club on the beauteous Yamuna bank at Saraswati Ghat in the city. The Yamuna from the Saraswati Ghat to the Yamuna Bridge offers an ideal river front for various water sports activities. This endeavour of the UP Tourism offers the people of Allahabad and pilgrims from other parts of the country an occasion to witness eco-spiritual-cultural harmony.The department of tourism Uttar Pradesh is organising the much-awaited Ganga Water Rally in Allahabad after a break of seven years. The Ganga Water Rally also attracts a number of foreign participants. The rally was pioneered in the year 1996 with support of foreign adventure tourists. In the year 1999, a seven-member British team participated in it.The department of Tourism expects that the, the organisation of the Ganga Water Rally this year would attract large number of tourists in the city, which has witnessed a slump off late.
