Namaste ! Dear Friends,

On behalf of India Tourism Milan, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, I warmly welcome all of you to the 50th Edition of TTG Incontri Trade Show at Rimini from 17 to 19 October 2013.

This Directory is a very important tool to link in between suppliers from India present in our Pavilion with the buyers and other potential visitors during this fair.

India Tourism Pavilion this year, would be showcasing India's ultifaceted tourist attractions, new products and packages in line with our International ampaign'' Find What You Seek''. With 14 co exhibitors representing different segments of he Indian travel trade offering various products such as MICE, Ayurveda & Wellness, Adventure & Nature, Wildlife, Medical Tourism, Pilgrimage, Cultural & Spiritual, Beach Tourism, Eco & Rural Tourism and Palace Hotels & Resorts and much more.

I am confident that our continuous efforts and presence in this very important fair, will definitely bring positive growth of tourist arrivals from Italy to our Incredible India this year and in the future.

1.    Trend and data’s about 2013 (visitors from Italy, from Europe and all over the world)

Foreign Tourist Arrivals(FTAs)  in India during the period January to August 2013 was 4.3 million with a growth of 3.6%, as compared to FTAs of 4.1 million with a growth of 5.9% during January to August 2012 over the corresponding period of 2011.

The country wise arrival figures for 2013 are presently not available. However, in 2012 we had 98743 visitors from Italy. Europe is one of the key markets for India and we received 2.17 million visitors from Europe during 2012 while the total foreign tourist arrivals in India during 2012 stood at 6.57 Million.

2.    Forecasts for the second  part of the year and trend in 2014

We are hopeful that the growth trend will continue as we have seen during first eight months and we will be able to maintain a growth which will be higher than the world average.

3.    Main products and topic to develop in Italian market

Cultural Heritage remains our strength, besides the Ministry of Tourism has identified several niche products like Adventure Tourism, Wellness Tourism , MICE , Cruises including river cruising on the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers, Eco Holidays. Our efforts will be develop such products that will allow the Italian traveller to experience India in real sense.

4.    Marketing initiatives to fight international crisis 

The Incredible India Campaign will our main marketing initiative to showcase the innumerable authentic experiences that India offers. We intend to show case the lesser know and “waiting to be discovered destinations” in the North East India. An International Tourism Mart is scheduled to be held in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh from 18-20 Oct. 2013 and we will be having international buyers and media from 26 countries participating in this event.

5.    International promotion: News in Italy and in Europe

  • The Ministry of Tourism undertakes Centralised International Media Campaigns - print, electronic and online, under the ‘Incredible India’ brand line in key source markets as well as potential markets across the world.
  • The Ministry has released a Global Print Campaign and Global Television Campaign in February 2013. As a part of this campaign, Life of Pi creatives sourced in collaboration with M/s Fox International, have also been used in addition to the Find What You Seek creatives.


11. Development (internet and social network web)

Internet and Social Media cannot be undermined in any marketing activity. The Ministry has recently redesigned its website to make it more user friendly. Links have been provided to the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO ) website for booking of tour packages besides links for hotel and airlines bookings .  

The Ministry of Tourism launched a Global Online Campaign targeting major international websites with effect from June 2013 and this would continue till October 2013

The Honorable  Minister of Tourism  Indian  Dr.Chiranjeevi  recently announced that  "our efforts should be to give and promote tourism as a real life experience and show the real India "

Meanwhile, India has earned three prestigious awards at the World Travel Awards (WTA) recently.The awards were respectively as the top destination in the world, India, World Tourism Incredible! Ndia and the main tourist attraction in the world, namely, the Taj Mahal.
